Luxury group PPR have announced the signature of a non-binding memorandum of understanding (“MoU”) with YOOX S.p.A for the joint management of the e-commerce operations of some of PPR’s luxury brands.
At present, the MoU includes the Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney and Sergio Rossi brands.
PPR and YOOX are working on negotiations at present with the aim of closing a definitive agreement in the coming months.
What and who are YOOX?
The brand was established in 2000 and they are known as the leading virtual store for multi-brand fashion and design in the world.
Long-standing direct relationships with designers, manufacturers and official retailers worldwide, yoox.com offers browsers a selection of products that are hard-to-find elsewhere, including an edited range of end-of-season clothing and accessories from the world’s most prestigious designers (we love), exclusive capsule collections, eco-friendly fashion, a unique assortment of home design objects and rare vintage finds and art books.
yoox.com is operated by YOOX Group, which has offices and operations in the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Hong Kong.
The website describes itself as ‘all about discovery – an eclectic and playful journey beyond fashion’s strict seasonal rules – allowing men and women to express their individuality through timeless and creative style’.
With YOOX listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, we think that this could be a very successful relationship.
