Description:
Our client, undoubtedly one of the world’s most iconic luxury brands requires a Visual Merchandise Manager to be based in Sydney. This role will require the successful candidate to lead and motivate a team of up to 6-8 Visual Merchandising Specialists and In-Store Correspondents to maintain and elevate the image in the retail environment. The candidate must possess proven leadership skills. You will be required to ensure that all stores have a cohesive look in line with current global visual merchandising (VM) guidelines. The Visual Merchandising Manager will further be required to define and adapt visual merchandising guidelines in relation to the merchandising and commercial objectives of the business.
Responsibilities will extend to development of VM skills and practices in the stores, with Store Managers and teams. Education and driving store staff to apply principles to best suit their environment and, in turn, meet objectives on product targets and increase sales revenue. Specific areas of responsibility are listed below:
Management of Window Implementation and Display Props
Coordination of VM Correspondents In-Store
Management of Market Specialists
Optimisation of Visual Merchandising of Stores to Standards
Events
Store Projects
Lightboxes and Posters
Store Feedback
Budget
The candidate will be required to possess the following:
Tertiary degree preferred in visual arts, interior design, similar arts-related field or retail business
Previous experience as a VM with similar management responsibility for at least three years
General appreciation and passion for aesthetics, i.e. design, art, architecture etc. Excellent communication skills
Organised with an attention to detail across multiple projects
Strong presence and influencing ability to ensure global guidelines are executed correctly
Ability to motivate and influence others through training and vision
Knowledge of luxury brands
Effective report writing skills and analytical competency
High customer focus
Flexible to the fluctuating demands of the role
Candidates are advised that a minimum of four years VM background (implementation and budget management) as a Manager is essential in order to be considered for this role.
