Retail Operations Manager - Luxury Brand
Ref no: 1904BROMS - Posted Apr 19, 2011 at 14:07
Position:
Retail Operations Manager
Location:
Sydney, Australia
Description:
An innovative and dynamic international luxury brand requires a retail operations manager. This is a newly created position for a highly experienced retail operations professional, who has managed a number of stores with large footprints and traffic flow. The ideal candidate will have full accountability for the financial success of the stores, the inventory operations (shrinkage), staff development and turnover. Our client requires an intelligent, highly customer focused manager who is down-to-earth and takes a very hands-on approach.
You will be responsible for ensuring sales and profit targets are met, at minimum, and exceeded where possible. You will be culturally aligned with the brand and respect the brand heritage and overall vision. You will need to ensure that existing and new staff are well trained in all aspects of retail operations and the ultimate client service experience. This role also demands inventory and merchandise management, visual merchandising and store planning capabilities.
The appropriate candidate will possess team skills and a track record of proven collaborative work practices. Focus and drive will ensure results are part of a collective not individual effort. Ten or more years of successful retail operations management, including budget & profit and loss management is requested in addition to management experience of at least a multi-store portfolio of ten stores on a national and/or international basis. The ideal candidate will have acquired extensive experience in new store set up and transitioning, including critical time path management. Strong staff management capabilities are essential as leadership skills are paramount in this position. Experience working with premium brands is required, luxury brand experience would be an advantage.
In addition, high proficiency in Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel and Word for reporting purposes is necessary. Proven excellence in communication both written and verbal is critical alongside your relationship management experience including both horizontal and vertical.
