Position: Wholesale Manager
Location: Sydney, Australia
Description: Our client, a leading Australian international designer synonymous with impeccable attention to detail, is seeking a domestic and international Wholesale Manager. The Wholesale Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring a customer focused organisation, integrating strong sales into the company and ensuring that the brand value is enhanced and understood while being the “voice of the client and the end consumer”.

Reporting to the designer, you are a vital team player, who will work across the company ensuring relevant knowledge is transferred with the expectation to invest the time and effort to become comfortable with the technical aspects of the business, such as garment structure, raw materials and the overall production side of the business with duties including:

Working closely with retail clients, local and international premium luxury driven department stores to further nurture relationships with the objective to increase sales within existing doors locally and internationally for the designer’s main line.

Work with the Designer & Finance Manager on setting the sales budgets and any revisions, by distribution account, by season

Further develop a sales strategy, looking at opportunities to extend the brand presence to appropriate department stores or independent retail operators both locally and internationally

Work closely with the design team, Production and Despatch to ensure transparency and efficiency in communication with clients

Preparing for the seasonal collection showings locally and internationally, including New York and Paris up to three times per year in a highly efficient and effective manner

Ensuring information on seasonal range showings, order deadlines and in-store deliveries are delivered clearly and pre-emptively to clients, agents and relevant in-house teams

Work on seasonal markdowns with all clients, communicating a consistent message on time periods, percentage markdown agreed and the display of markdown merchandise

Identify and report on general market trends to recommend changes to the sales strategy and then to address these issues

Provide leadership and team motivation to pursue common objectives with excitement about the future, radiating enthusiasm for the goals and brand history to ensure objectives are achieved

Essential Requirements:

Wholesale sales experience working with local and international premium department stores, ensuring exposure to the London, Paris or New York market; Proven sales achievements including existing and newly created accounts; Budget creation and management experience; Strong communication and client relationship development skills; The ability to work autonomously yet collaboratively; Self-motivated and highly results oriented individual with traits that are flexible, energetic and fearless with well groomed presentation and articulate and calm under pressure character.
